Legislation to support tele-work and reduce traffic

Agree with this completely.  The technology is there to allow people to work remotely with effectiveness.  The benefits of enabling this in terms of work life balance, reduction of traffic and carbon emissions is potentially huge.  The challenge is cultural in many organisations, but a push from legislation would help to start the change process.

Mielestäni kyse on pikemminkin aloitteista kuin lainsäädännöstä. Hyvä ajatus, mutta työnantajilla ja työntekijöillä on oltava vakaat perusteet sen omaksumiseen. Esimerkiksi tuottavuus, alhaisemmat kustannukset, enemmän henkilökohtaista aikaa jne. Ajatusta voidaan laajentaa ja sen hyötyjä moninkertaistaa. Jos työntekijä voi tehdä etätyötä, miksei sitä tehdä Etelä-Euroopassa sijaitsevalta paikkakunnalta, jossa lämmitys- ja asumiskustannukset ovat pienemmät kuin kotona, ainakin osan vuodesta? Ennen kuin hylkäät ajatuksen, tarkista, kuinka paljon energiaa käytetään lämmitykseen, sähköön jne. Keski- ja Pohjois-Euroopassa. Lisähyötyjä ovat esimerkiksi parempi tunne eurooppalaisuudesta, ”henkilökohtaisen ilmaston” muuttuminen, ehkä vähemmän tarve matkustaa lomalla ja vielä paljon enemmän.
