Governments should legislate to foster tele-work and make it compulsory for companies at least in a percentage of time per week. This should considerably reduce traffic in the cities and even allow to live far from the cities, revitalising the economy of rural areas.

Agree with this completely.  The technology is there to allow people to work remotely with effectiveness.  The benefits of enabling this in terms of work life balance, reduction of traffic and carbon emissions is potentially huge.  The challenge is cultural in many organisations, but a push from legislation would help to start the change process.

Thank you for sharing this idea and raising the issue on our platform.

Are you aware of the steps to follow to draft and register a European Citizens’ Initiative? Are you currently looking for partners and/or for further developments of your idea?

Please note that you can find useful information and guidance notes in the LEARN section of the Forum, especially in terms of procedural steps or tips to draft an initiative (https://collab.ec.europa.eu/wiki/eci/display/ECI/Learn).

If you are looking for partners to form a citizens’ committee, make sure you check out the CONNECT section of the Forum (https://collab.ec.europa.eu/wiki/eci/display/ECI/Connect). Here, you can search the database, identify users committed to your same cause and contact them to be potential co-organisers for your initiative or even for advice.

Let us draw your attention to the existence of data collected by the EU on teleworking. Please find more information following this link: https://ec.europa.eu/eurostat/web/products-eurostat-news/-/DDN-20180620-1

If you have already started to draft an initiative and are looking for advice (whether legal advice, or advice on campaigning, fundraising, communicating, or other aspects), check out the SEEK ADVICE section of the Forum in order to receive tailor-made feedback on your proposed initiative (https://collab.ec.europa.eu/wiki/eci/display/ECI/Seek+advice).

If you have reached the stage to be ready to register an initiative, the Official Register of the European Citizens’ Initiative might be more adapted to your request: http://ec.citizens-initiative.europa.eu/public/how-to-register.

Ceapaim gur ábhar níos mó é de thionscnaimh a chuirtear ar fáil ná mar a chuirtear ar fáil sa reachtaíocht. Smaoineamh fónta ach ní mór d‘fhostóirí agus d’fhostaithe cúiseanna fónta a bheith acu chun é a ghlacadh. Táirgiúlacht mar shampla, costais níos ísle, níos mó ama pearsanta etc Is féidir an smaoineamh a leathnú cé agus na sochair a iolrú. Más féidir le fostaí teilea-obair a dhéanamh ansin, cén fáth nach bhfuil sé ó áit i nDeisceart na hEorpa ina bhfuil costais téimh agus maireachtála níos ísle ná na costais ina bhfuil siad sa bhaile, ar a laghad cuid den bhliain? Sula ndiúltaíonn tú don smaoineamh, seiceáil cé mhéad fuinnimh a chaitear i dtéamh, i leictreachas etc. san Eoraip Láir agus san Eoraip Thuaidh. Tá buntáistí eile ann amhail braistint níos fearr a bheith Eorpach, athrú ar 'aeráid phearsanta', b’fhéidir níos lú riachtanas le taisteal ar saoire agus go leor eile.

Séanadh: Na tuairimí atá curtha in iúl ar Fhóram an Tionscnaimh Eorpaigh ó na Saoránaigh, is é dearcadh a n-údar amháin a léiríonn siad agus ní féidir a thuiscint in aon chor go léiríonn siad seasamh an Choimisiúin Eorpaigh nó an Aontais Eorpaigh.
