Suna interesant si un pic SF, dar fara nicio garantie ca va avea efectul scontat sau un efect pozitiv. Ar putea da peste cap clima in zona umbrita, poate cauza probleme florei si faunei locale, si cine mai stie cate. Cred ca doar dupa multe simulari facute cu supercomputere pe modele predictive (daca exista) se poate decide daca umbrirea locala sau totala ar avea un rezultat net pozitiv.

The idea can be valid if we continue to fail in reducing CO2 output. However only to win time, because the solution is to restore our atmosphere. The idea to make shadow around the equator is however utterly wrong. We should make shade on the areas that heat up too much, these are the permanent high pressure systems at 30 degrees latitude and of course the poles (expected to warm up more than 7 degrees Celsius).

To make shadow at the equator will alter the tropical low pressure system, and thus the rainy season. It will be a recipe for conflict (as will be most earth engineering solutions).
