Dear all users,

I hope this message finds you all well and safe.

My name is Yasmina Heuchamps and I’m contacting you on behalf of Voters Without Borders, a registered youth-led European citizens’ initiative asking for full political rights for EU Citizens. I am writing to you to kindly request your help.

We would like to build a policy/background paper on ECIs in general, but more on a categorisation perspective (what they are about and which kind of organisation is behind). We would be very grateful if you have at your disposal any kind of academic or scientific materials that could help us in our project.

Many thanks in advance,

Best wishes,

Yasmina Heuchamps for Voters Without Borders

Dear Yasmina,

Thank you for sharing your idea.

In relation to your question, we would like to flag that in the European Citizens’ Initiative website it is possible to consult all the initiatives registered by the European Commission and their related details. It is possible to filter them by category via the link below: https://citizens-initiative.europa.eu/find-initiative_en In each specific initiatives’ page you can refer to the ‘Sources of support and funding’ that could provide you with information regarding the organisations supporting the initiative.

Furthermore, we would advise you to consult the ‘Success Stories’ in the Learn section of the European Citizens’ Initiative Forum where you can find more details and information on four of the six ‘successful’ initiatives. In the blog section of the Forum you can also find a number of different articles written by organisers of citizens’ initiatives, academics and experts, that could help you for your research.

We hope that the above information is of assistance to you. We are looking forward to keep engaging on this matter if appropriate!

Best regards,

The European Citizens' Initiative Forum Team
